See ya mountain cube farm...howdy redneck cube farm!

There's a general comradary that I haven't felt at work since I left the telecomm there in KC and went to work for the V. It isn't because there aren't people I don't hang with and shoot the breeze with here in Bad-driver-ville. It's just that I didn't actually work WITH or on the same team, as anyone here. The closest guy I worked with was in Phoenix...that's pretty far to go for some coffee and a chat about work.

I'll admit that I talk to Stef all the time on SameTime, our internal IM program. But that only gets you so far into the buddy relationship at work. It could just be that at PCS we were a "Band of Brothers", trying to fight off the system and constantly bitching about managers and whether we were going to get fired the next day...

Well, I'll be leaving the land of snow covered mountains, mega-yuppies, and enironmental extremists (Yup, even in SUV loving Denver, amazing isn't it?) here in about 4 days and heading down to Billy-Bob city, just north of Fort Worth, where I can be released into the sprawling wild cube farms with workers of my own kind.

Now, I'm not saying that you can burp, fart, and scratch without someone complaining down there, but when every other vehicle in the lot is a truck (not pickups, we're talking dually diesel F350 kind of beasts) instead of a Jeep or an Audi, I know I'm back nearer to "home".
