Gastric Bypass

Why do people go about saying that gastric bypass is a risky surgery and then all of a sudden more people do it???? WHY? Because fat stars are doing it, and it's now the new chic surgery and way to "improve" yourself.
Now Randy Jackson, the cat from American Idol has done it, the fatty from Wilson Phillips did it, and so did Al Roker of morning TV fame. I hate to keep pounding on this stuff, but it is just like people whining about Britney and Christina turning into whores. It's showing everyone else the bad side of our society. We HAVE to be thin and we don't have the willpower by which to get there.
I really hate to give that one random poster out there some more stuff to bitch about and flame on our board, but I just gotta say it's gone too far. When you can't eat all of a sandwich because you have gone through GB, what kind of life is that? You have to chew your food until it is mush, and then eat more often during the day. Hell, why can't you just do that before the GB procedure? It's called self control. I'll admit I used to be a binge eater depending on the day or where we were going out to eat, but lately it's been more about eating to live, not living to eat...c'mon folks, lets get real. Soon we'll just be replacing our stomachs every few months depending on the amount of weight we want to lose or maintain.
